Worlds apart

I’m gonna keep working on this one… but I thought I would share its process with the digital world. I haven’t updated my blog for a while.

So… This is the first time I’ve flat out copied somebody else’s idea. I was having an angsty week a couple of months ago. It was in the middle of an ‘artistic-identity-crisis’. I made a last minute decision to enter a piece into a competition (despite my silly mood), and upon entering a gallery I saw a piece by Michael Peck. It perfectly captured my week. I decided it was time to flat out copy his composition, in the vain hope it would get the paintbrush back into my hand. So I went home and did just that.

I don’t consider this a finished piece, probably more-so a sketch of an idea. You know… one of those things you put on your blog. ;) So Shhhh…. don’t tell Michael.
